STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM CAPABILITY AND PROCESS DIAGNOSTIC
A Victorian University was starting to outgrow its Student Management System’s capability. This presented an opportunity to conduct a diagnostic and provide strategic advice and direction to support the ongoing growth of the Vocational and Further Education Operations of the University.
Business Analysis: DMAIC methodology was utilised to help define the business problem(s) and future state options for consideration.
Current state baseline and diagnostic: Developed an inventory of all related systems, processes and business issues, including root causes analysis.
Future state optionality: Developed a program of work, including the delivery of quick wins. Each deliverable/initiative was underpinned by a time, cost and effort estimation.
Governance: Presented fortnightly to the Student Management System Working Party for decisions and advice.
Program of work blue-print defined: Provided the University Board with a range of solution options including a recommended road-map and investment consideration.
